Joint Teacher Training Event in Almendralejo. Final Day.

Friday. It was the last day of the meeting in Spain after a busy week, so the next thing was observing classes taught through the medium of English:  Arts and Crafts and Maths in particular. After that, the teachers had a short session to discuss how to exploit the Europass as it is one of the tools we are going to implement within the project.

But the core activity on Friday was a dissemination event that the school had arranged to show its international projects combined with some music and two short theatre adaptations performed by Mónica's students, Cinderella and The Crazy Story.
Piedad Mesías, the school principal, opened the event addressing some words to the audience. Some of the Comenius students gave presentations on their experience and others presented a student exchange project that the school is carrying out with a French school. Finally, two of the students that will participate in the exchange trip in Slovenia gave a short presentation of Y.E.S. for Future project.

To bring the event to a close the local Councillor for Education and Culture and the Director of the Teacher and Resource Centre addressed the school community encouraging the students and teachers to take part in European programmes. Finally, Agnes, Leena and Mateja made a short speech hoping to meet many of the students in the auditorium in some of the upcoming meetings.

Friday turned out to be a warm sunny day and most teachers made the most of it by enjoying the sunshine before our last meal together at school. The afternoon was dedicated to sightseeing and enjoying some of the sights that Almendralejo offers.
Last, but not least, the hosts invited the guest teachers to a special farewell dinner in a traditional restaurant. All of us could taste traditional dishes like manchego cheese, cured iberian pork products, prawns on garlic bread, mushrooms and iberian pork served with a good local wine.
